Mother Daughter Jewelry was created by Heather Tanton in 2003. A native Southerner, Heather Moved to New York in 2001 to pursue a creative career, and that is where she began to study different jewelry making methods.
Particularly interested in jewelry from the Art Deco Period, Heather strives to blend aspects of contemporary and traditional design. She works primarily with wire, chain, vintage charms and semi precious stones, and also incorporates wax carvings which she has cast into pendants.
Heather named her company in honor of her mother Cindy, who encouraged her to turn her love of creating art into a business, and her Grandmother Viola, whose exquisite jewelry collection has been a life long inspiration.
Heather now handmakes each piece of jewelry in her studio in Richmond, Virginia where she is also a freelance fashion stylist. She consistently creates jewelry that is elegant, relevant and enduring for all mothers and daughters.
